As there where a few trying hard to sell these guitars. Couple tags where just photo copied versions on thin card. Better off getting a Mim and upgrading the parts. Too many variables, ok, between and And yes, Mexican strats these days are just as good and sometimes better than American made ones. Tone with mine is much better. Mix between a tele and strat.
LOVE my guitar. Lots of voice, tone and very usuable over many styles. It is and always be a crap shoot with guitars, that is what evens the playing field…the more you spend the less likely a dud though.. Installed a couple of Epiphone humbuckers and pots and love it. Notes more true than my Gibson es I bought new in But…I would never get rid of my Gibson my love.
I have to say that there are a lot of variables in ANY guitar. My very inexpensive Jazzmaster is my favorite. Now my regular Stratocaster is better looking but it just seems to miss that something special. But guitars are each an individual and just need to be looked at that way. Just my opinion, and we know what those are like.
Mine is having its 20th birthday Aug 25 , almost old enough to go to the bar. Can you date month of production by the serial number? Planets lined up and finally could put in an order in, waited 70 days and it found its way to me! I was in awe on how it felt, the finishing touches on it were to die for. It sounded and felt great!!
Was selling as a used 11 year old guitar that was played 10 times by previous owner, basically still new!!! I ate rice for a while after purchasing that guitar, I was tight on money but thought I gotta take this one home with me!!! Best thing I did!!!! Still playing it, after these years, has a second fret job on it and would never ever sell it!!!
I wanna know whats the radius and type of neck is on that guitar. Also is it nitro or poly, and what are the pickups on it. Would appreciate some help. So, I usually create vibrato with my fingers instead.
Yet, whenever I need that extra vibrato, I can easily screw it back into the bridge. The biggest difference in hardware between the Player and Standard series is the pickups.
My Standard has hotter ceramic pickups , which have more output , more distortion and stronger mid-range tones. Especially on the Player HSS models, this creates more nuanced bridge tones. Nonetheless, the single volume knob and the 5-way pickup selector remain the same on all Fender Mexican Stratocasters.
Design and hardware aside, sound is where Mexican Strats truly shine. Unlike other Fender models, Stratocasters have a five-way selector switch that activates different pickups and gives Strats their classic sound. On HSS Strats like mine, the first and second positions produce even thicker tones, thanks to the humbucker pickup.
Humbuckers are so-named because they reduce the hum of single-coil pickups, creating a crunchier sound. This is why HSS and especially HSH Strats which also have a humbucker neck pickup can handle heavier genres like grunge and alternative meta l. In contrast, the classic SSS Strats are better suited for rock, blues and country. On a closer look, you may notice some subtle design and hardware differences between the American and Mexican Strat.
The nut width is slightly narrower on the American Strat, at 1. Unlike the tuning pegs on American-made Strats, the ones on Mexican-made Strats are straight instead of staggered. I'm a bit confused, since I remember buying it in Is it common for Fender's own web site to report inaccurate information?
CalicoSkies , Sep 7, Age: 45 Messages: 25, Guitarmageddon , Sep 7, Messages: 5, I wouldn't say their web site is wrong, without talking to someone at Fender I had an MN6xxxx serial number strat and when I called Fender they told me it was a Stratocaster Other Fender Serial Number Schemes. Not all schemes are covered here.
Below are some examples of letter prefixes used in recent serial number schemes. V : this prefix used for US made "vintage reissue" models, to present.
I'm guessing it's a standard, but no telling. Archived This topic is now archived and is closed to further replies. Go to topic listing. Sign In Sign Up. MN : "M" means Mexican made, "N" is the decade s. C : this prefix used in
